What We Do
We pick kids from the garbage, feed, lodge, clothe them and send them to school. We furthermore empower their parents so they can welcome their children back when they’re able to provide for them.
Children Program
We support children rescued from the dump by ensuring they are housed, fed, clothed and sent to school in a loving and structured environment.
Women
We empower the mothers or guardians through skills training and support, enabling them to provide basic needs and reconnect with their children.

About Sylvestre Havyarimana
Sylvestre Havyarimana was born in 1984 at Musaga in the Commune of Muha in Province Bujumbura in Burundi. As the civil war raged in Burundi, his father fell in it in 1996, turning an absurd page to his family whose life was depending mainly on the chief of the family...

Our Story
We are a Christian charity operating in Burundi. We started with the main garbage dump of Bujumbura, the economic capital of Burundi. We send to school children who didn’t get an opportunity to go to school and those who drop out of school and opt for scavenging on the dump due to hunger. Moreover, we empower their families. BLA was founded by Sylvestre Havyarimana in collaboration with Pentecostal Church (Paklanyenye) in Voronej in Russia of which he was a deacon.
